About Joel Wilkinson
I established a full-time studio in 1985, in downtown Greenville, SC. Also, I manage McDunn Gallery in Greenville. My background is in painting and drawing, however the gallery’s main focus is craft. While my own work is 2D, I’ve always had a strong sense of attraction to objects, especially those of clay and wood. My grandpa was a finish carpenter (thanks to John Prine, there is a song about my grandpa’s kind). At the end of the day it’s all about the work, 2D and 3D, and the makers.
